More Grassi Lakes Trail – Movement 13

This third image from our trek to Grassi Lakes a few weeks ago,was made along a tiny creek which was cascading down the mountain right across the trail, providing numerous opportunities for me to enjoy the sun glinting off the water. Thankfully digital cameras now allow us to review images immediately after making them, as this type of image requires a bit of experimenting with different shutter speeds to allow the sun trails to streak just right.

Grassi Lakes

Grassi Lakes are named for Lawrence Grassi who was an early climbing guide and trail builder. He constructed this trail and built a nice set of stairs near the top that make the trail far easier than scrambling up the rocks! There are two beautiful emerald tarns caught between a fold in the  mountains above Canmore, Alberta. My family took a trip a couple weeks back to get away and we took the “More Difficult” route instead of the “Easy” route which proved far more enjoyable. The “Easy” route follows a forestry service road and you miss the great views available. the colours in the lakes are simply amazing and the hike up is really very do-able for almost anyone.

“Worthy are you, our Lord and God,

to receive glory and honour and power,

for you created all things,

and by your will they existed and were created”

Revelations 4:11
