Summer/Fall mini season

Filed under: Autumn, Nature, Travel, Trees — collin orthner @ 5:30 pm

Driving along Secondary 532 west of Chain Lakes Provincial Park in the foothills of southern Alberta, I came across this small grove of Trembling Aspens interspersed with the colours of two seasons. I really enjoy a view like this that is not about summer, and it’s not about fall, but instead is the story of the change of seasons. How often do we compare with others which season of the year is our favourite? Usually I claim that fall is my favourite, but honestly I think that it is the in-between mini-season of  summer/fall. I say mini as it usually doesn’t last all that long. It’s that time of year when you get that first smell of fall on a nice crisp day, but it really is still summer – early to mid September.
