Quiet Places

Filed under: Nature, Trees — collin orthner @ 4:25 am

One of my favourite places to go when I just want to get away from the city, is just about 25km east and south a bit from Red Deer along a dead-end road. It’s pretty quite and I’ve only run across some workers checking on a gas plant twice in about 10 years. It’s a place I can go and just sit and enjoy a beautiful view or do some photography that is usually more of the kind that is just for me. I get to take my time interpreting my thoughts and feelings however I please, with no one else around and in my own time. Somedays I get nothing at all and others I come away with a few nice images. To me it doesn’t really matter if I get anything good when I’m out there as it is just my time to relax my mind and be still.

This image benefits from a late day sun warming the trees from the west while a clear blue sky illuminates the trees from the east with a gorgeous blue tone making for a very nice colour contrast.

A beautiful calm evening with a finale chorus from some of coyotes after the dark had settled in.
