Sparrow’s-Egg Lady Slipper Orchid (Cypripedium passerinum)

Filed under: E-M5, Flowers, Nature, Olympus MZuiko 60mm Macro, Plants — collin orthner @ 11:04 pm

I took my friend Gary Kuiken out to Gull Lake this afternoon as he heard I had found some Sparrow’s-Egg Lady Slipper orchids about a week ago and really wanted to see them and make a few images. Unfortunately, they were almost all done blooming, but we managed to locate a few decent specimens after a bit of scrounging around and he made some nice images. I made a few exposures of them  myself a few days back when I first located them as seen below:

  1. Collin that is really a beautiful flower. I am on my way to Gull in an hour or so and I think I will try and scrounge around and see if I can find one. Like you say they are probably done for the season but it doesn’t hurt to try. You never know what else I may trip over. Great job!

  3. Hmm, that is a beautiful flower. Orchid I mean. However I was wondering what size it might be …
